NEW MCE HMC-2000 Hydraulic Controller Receives TSSA Approval...MCE tops Filed Standard Controllers List

Motion Control Engineering (MCE), the industry’s leading manufacturer of non-proprietary elevator controls, and member of the Kinetek group of companies, announced today that its new HMC-2000 Hydraulic Controller has met the Technical Standards and Safety Authority’s (TSSA) regulatory requirements for compliance within Ontario regarding the Canadian elevator safety code CSA B44-04. MCE now has the distinction of having the largest number of Filed Standard Controllers as compiled by TSSA.

According to Debbie Prince, MCE Code Specialist, the inclusion of ten MCE controllers (see list on following page) in TSSA’s Filed Standards Controller Directory is a testament to MCE’s leadership and focus in the area of elevator safety. “MCE’s entire product development process, from initial designs through development and production, meets rigorous internal product safety criteria.”

MCE senior vice president, Ashur Kanon, was pleased with TSSA’s approval of the HMC-2000 and noted that years of dedication to understanding and implementing safety code requirements—including participation on ASME A17 committees and membership in NAESA— contributed to the HMC-2000 approval and the major milestone of having 10 MCE controllers recognized by TSSA. “MCE has always been focused on continually improving the safe, reliable operation of our elevator control products.”

Kanon noted that having an individual at the company whose sole focus is code compliance contributes greatly to MCE’s ability to stay on the leading edge of elevator safety. “Debbie Prince is our dedicated safety code authority. She is keenly aware of current and anticipated safety code requirements and plays an invaluable role at MCE in overseeing our safety code related activity and initiatives.”
